Mai's eyes are a pale blue-white. This female is blind.
Mapes' fur is white, but she has sandy brown pathes over her ears, eyelids, hind paws, and the tip of her tail. Markings:
By her acute hearing and sense of touch, Mai has the ability to perceive people's lies by their heart rate. Although a good judge of character and often logical, she is quick to anger, especially when she thinks herself insulted. Inside this hardened exterior, Mai hides trace insecurities in regards to her blindness. Being restricted by her parents on account of her disability, Mai resents condescension and often mistakes a friendly gesture for an act of pity for her blindness. Though in a good mood, this female can become quite the flirt when her game is being played.
When others can't see and rely on her instincts. When wolves don't pity her for her blindness.

Mai can sense things up to eight miles away through sense of smell, hearing and feel.

Mai is the only pup of one of the best known and largest packs from her part of the country, who reside in the South corner of the land. Mai's parents, viewing her blindness as a disability, assume that she is vulnerable to exploitation by the world, and therefore keep her concealed. Despite her handicap, Mai developed special skills by keeping company with the blind moles around the back of the cave she was hidden in. By spending time with the animals and learning to see through the earth using her paws to sense the vibration, Mai became able to roam about without crashing into walls; but kept her ability secret from her family and teacher. Later, Mai began to sneak out a back wall from the cave to explore the forest, this is where she met her friends Jiro, Zani and Kiro.
In order to escape her parents' control, Toph fled secretly with Jiro and his friends, being led to this pack before finally saying goodbye and moving on to see if the pack was friendly.
